Ahhh, so...
This Cosy/Cozy Mystery has been on my writing list since...
...2017 (or there abouts).
I wrote an entire short first draft. Then stopped working on it. A number of times I went back to it, getting more and more frustrated as I went through it and I could SEE exactly where I had attempted so many times to keep working on it, fixing the plots, sorting mistakes...ugh. 😣
Because of that, it has been stop-start on this series for too long. The story was a mess, which I've mentioned before. If I don't finish a book quick enough, it gets bollocksed up because I didn't write an outline, so I am not sure where plots and threads were going.
So! I've grabbed a planner and I've began working on this very seriously. I'm just in the middle of working out a full and proper outline (I've got the mystery and how it was done), and I've read over what I'd written so far, kept some things - that don't have any connection to the mystery - and deleted EVERYTHING ELSE! 😮
Now, it's a clean slate, and I can plan and write the new mystery and use the peices I've kept to fit in it.
I feel better about it. This series has been on my mind for so long and now I just HAVE to get it written.
I want to write it. I want people to read it.
That's not going to happen if I just keep it in my head or in multiple notes in multiple notebooks.
I'm going to be working on it for the rest of the month, with hopes of finishing it.
