Completed a Book...
I completed the Children's High Fantasy in full on Friday (28/7/2023).
As you may have seen, I've actually sent this one out on submission. No replies yet, but hoping for something soon...a yes would be great, obviously.
In the meantime, I'll be working on some of my self-publishing books for cosy/cozy mysteries and some horror/suspense novellas (I've cut my teeth, so to say, on this genre with the short horror stories - see my Vincent Powley pages - so want to try and write longer. I also have some novels planned too, with some characters I've introduced in the shorts).
It'll be a nice break from fantasy for a bit, while waiting on responses. Of course, I'll share where I get to.
I've signed back into my socials - as I always take a break when getting into the final stages of writing. I'm easily distracted! - which means I'll do the odd updates there, but mostly here.
Tomorrow, I'll give some stats etc. for July '23.

Photo above: my planner/organiser that I use for most things, which also contains a small diary for day to day appointments and to do's etc, and a grey notebook I'm starting to use for self publishing related notes.
Giving It Another Go...
(Ignore the watch! I took this picture a while back when my trainers were shiny and new😅).
Just started jogging again for the first time in a number of weeks.
It was tough going, but I was surprised by how far I could go before my asthma-riddled lungs kicked in.
I'm forty now, so getting fit has taken a higher position on my priority list, although getting started and keeping it going has been a bit difficult. But sometimes, like today - after I was quite ill last week and have been a bit of a slug ever since - I just got up, put on a vest, joggers and trainers and went out the door.
Starting is often a hurdle to jump.
Today I chucked myself over it.
Having done that, I can try to keep at it this time.
And if I fall down, I now know I can try again.

Cozy Mysteries: The Rewrite...
While the Children's High Fantasy book is out on submission, I'm working on my first cozy/cosy mystery book (that I mentioned ages ago).
Starting with noting down scenes I've done so far, so I can try to sort out the mess I made of it by taking too long to write the bloody thing.
Also, I've joined Threads through my Instagram.
